Welcome to what are most likely the world’s finest in terms of authenticity as well as appearance. These sets are for all two-cylinder John Deere tractors including the “GP” tractors. These sets are for tractors from the 1924 “D” through the last “830” tractor of 1960. This includes all the A, B, G, GP & H tractors in between!
Fastener Selection -- Particular emphasis for fastener selection going into these kits is nut & bolt style, and bolt length. Bolt length is important not only from an appearance point of view, but because many turn into blind holes, fasteners that are too long may tighten before you have tension with leaks as a result. Lengths such as 7/8” and 1-1/8” in square head (machine) bolts are not generally available commercially. As a result, many are hand-made!
Hex Nut Selection -- Many of these kits call for studs, the dominant sizes being 5/16” and 3/8” in diameter and of varying lengths, and for the Styled D, we have two that are 7/16” diameter. For the two smaller studs, where hex nuts are called out, heavy hex nuts are supplied because they more faithfully represent factory original styles; ergo they look better!
Fastener Specifications -- Most of the parts in these kits will arrive at your door in plain finish and lightly oiled to prevent corrosion. Some parts will be supplied with zinc coating as supply dictates, but will meet all the following criteria. All stud stock meets ASTM A36 (Gr A), all nuts meet ASTM A563 (Gr A), all square head bolts meet ASTM A307 (Gr A), and all hex head cap screws are Gr 5 per SAE J459.
Packaging & Shipping ‐‐ Kits are packaged in 6‐mil plastic bags, product insert sheets (folded) are included in each kit bag. Product Insert Sheets serve to define fasteners in the set and where they go – using relative Parts Catalog page & item reference numbers as appropriate. The bag containing fasteners and insert sheet is then sandwiched using cardboard & tape, and is easily shipped in a Priority Flat Rate Envelope at prevailing US Postal rates. A single Flat Rate Envelope can be used to deliver three or four sets, depending on set complexity. JDHPUBS.COM will combine shipping in order to save you unnecessary costs. Items are produced in New Braunfels, Texas.
