Field Service Bulletins -- JD Engineering Guidance

Here we have the essence of John Deere Guidance to their service men as relates to magnetos and spark plugs, service hints & helps, fixes for problems encountered, guidance on interchangeability, and full-blown Service Instructions for each of the five main magnetos used on John Deere tractors.

Spans over nearly two Decades -- All Service Bulletin data issued to JD service men from May 1935 to December 1953 is included in this offering.

Five (5) Special Field Service Bulletins/Instructions:

FSB 124-S (Fairbanks-Morse) [3 pages]

FSB 125-S (Edison Type "CD") [3 pages]

FSB 126-S (WICO Type "AP") [3 pages]

FSB127-S (WICO Type "C"  [3 pages]

FSB159-S (WICO Type "X") [8 pages]

Over 30 pages of Data from 25 other Service Bulletins in Addition to these main five Bulletins are provided -- Either in whole or in part -- data being taken from over 50 Field Service Bulletin pages, and presented in one printable PDF file.  Pages are in very "easy on the eye" format insofar as was practical.

All Magnetos Addressed in this One Document -- While it is true that WICO is the most widely used brand of magneto on JD tractors, others remain in service, and for the avid collector, keeping the original magneto is important.  This series "covers the waterfront"!

Interchangeability Charts -- This bulletin series also informs you which magneto goes with each series/model of tractor, and by serial number within the series.  Also addressed is lag angle data, even includes a two-page (internal) memorandum of change of lag angle and valve timing for all tractors in 1939.

Another 50 Pages of Enrichment Data -- This CD also contains back-up data from a magneto maker, an excerpt from the JD-H Restoration Guide on Magneto theory, and pages from SM2029 on JD Tractor Magneto Servicing.

Value Comparison -- In recent days, we have seen FSB 159-S alone being marketed for over $20.  That comparison would make this CD worth hundreds of dollars!  However, as you can see, it is being offered for far less and is a super buy for a person seeking to know the JD engineering mind insofar as magneto-based ignition systems for two-cylinder tractors is concerned.
